Screenshot of the old Abbey National website The Abbey National redesign was completed when I was employed by Capgemini.

A redesign of the banks old retail website was a major undertaking for DareStep (a division of Capgemini) and naturally involved a large project team. We was involved in initial designs, building templates and then support as and when additional items were required.

Abbey National has already received a WebUser Gold Award for this site. WebUser commented: "Abbey's site is a lesson in how high-street banks can make a successful shift to the net."

The Abbey revamp continues to get good press. It featured in 'Computing' magazine, 7th March 2002 under the headline "Bank's revamp reaps dividends". Abbey have seen a 10% rise in the number of online applications and a 98% increase in the use of online calculators as a result of the redesign.
